Kids Ride-On ATVs
Kids' ATVs give young riders the real quad feeling: handlebars, a straddle seat and four sturdy wheels. This collection runs from a push-along Can-Am quad and 6V mini ATVs for toddlers aged 1.5 to 3 up to officially licensed 24V Can-Am Renegade and Outlander models for ages 3 to 8. Compare rated age, seats and maximum weight to pick the right first four-wheeler.

How to choose a kids' ATV
A kids' ATV, or quad, is a single-rider style of ride-on: handlebars instead of a steering wheel, a straddle seat and four chunky wheels. That riding position feels like the real thing and suits children who love motorbikes and four-wheelers. Because our ATVs span toddlers to school-age riders, the key is choosing the right stage.
- Stage 1, 6V electric (ages 1.5 to 3). A gentle first powered ride. Our 6V ride-on cars follow the same idea.
- Stage 2, 24V electric (ages 3 to 8). More power for grass and gravel, plus higher weight limits. As a general guide, 24V suits roughly ages 3 to 8, and the rated age on each product page is what counts.
Also look at the maximum weight (from 55 lbs on the Mini CAT ATV to 110 lbs on the Can-Am Outlander) and the number of seats. If your child wants a passenger beside them rather than behind, a side-by-side from our UTV ride-ons collection may suit better.

Riding a kids' quad safely
A ride-on ATV is a toy, but the habits your child learns now will stay with them:
- Stay within reach. Toddlers on 6V quads need an adult right beside them, and older riders need close supervision too.
- One rider per seat. Only the Outlander is listed with two seats. Everything else here is for one child.
- Helmet on. Getting used to a helmet on a toy quad makes it second nature later.
- Use speed settings wisely. If your ATV offers more than one speed, start on the lowest. Where a parental remote is listed on the product page, use it while your child learns to steer with handlebars.
- Flat, dry ground first. Lawns and paths are ideal for learning; save gravel and gentle slopes for the 24V models once your child is confident.
Buying a kids' ATV in Canada
Our kids' ATVs ship with free ground shipping across Canada, from the smallest 6V quads to the 24V Can-Am models. If you prefer to collect, we also offer local pickup in Ontario, Quebec and British Columbia. A quad also makes a practical first ride-on for smaller homes, since single-seat ATVs take up less storage space than two-seat cars.
Kids' ATV FAQ
Is a kids' quad the same as a kids' ATV?
Yes. Quad, ATV and four-wheeler all describe the same style: four wheels, handlebars and a straddle seat.
Is there an ATV for toddlers?
Yes. The 6V Can-Am Renegade and the Mini CAT ATV are both rated for ages 1.5 to 3. For a push-along first ride with no battery, the Can-Am Commander Foot to Floor is a toddler side-by-side: see our kids' side-by-sides. See more first rides in our ride-on toys for 1–3 year olds.
What age is a 24V kids' ride-on ATV for?
Both 24V Can-Am models here are rated for ages 3 to 8.
Can two kids ride one ATV?
Only on a model listed with two seats, like the Can-Am Outlander 24V. For two side by side, see our 2-seater ride-on cars.
Are the Can-Am ATVs officially licensed?
Yes, the 24V Can-Am Outlander and Renegade are officially licensed. Explore the full range in our Can-Am ride-ons.
